JADEN FRANCOIS-ESPRIT
COLLECTIVE CIC
WELCOME
We focus on building a supportive community through Education, Empowerment, and Physical Activity and are dedicated to creating inclusive spaces and opportunities that promote mental well-being, resilience, and personal growth. Our initiatives include hands-on workshops, collaborations with mental health advisors, support from suicide and bereavement charities, workplace advisory services, and guidance from neurodiversity champions. We aim to make a positive, lasting impact by connecting people with these vital resources.
Our flagship annual intergenerational community event—now in its fourth year—reflects our commitment to fostering understanding, support, and connection. We believe that the factors influencing mental health and well-being are complex and multifaceted. Through our work, we aim to address these challenges together, helping individuals find hope and support when they need it most.

Campaign
In the first year of losing her beloved son, Jaden, his mother Linda's primary purpose was to shine a spotlight on her son's experience within his workplace as the reason he ended his life.
The following was actioned:
- Attended regular meetings with the LFB commissioner.
- Took receipt of the traumatic internal report prepared for Jaden's inquest.
- Sat alongside close family & friends during the biased inquest.
- Participated in LFB cultural review to determine the terms of reference.

How it began
The inclusion of American flag football in the JFEC annual event began here, in year one, as we celebrated Jaden's life on the anniversary of his 22nd birthday in August.

American flag football has become a staple at our events. Its energentic, fun, and a non-contact sport so is accessible to all ages. We have included physical activity as a pillar for JFEC CIC.

JFEC
JFEC, previously aka 'Jaden Francois-Esprit Committee,' was founded in August. 2021. The brief was to campaign and ensure JADEN was at the forefront of the London fire brigade's cultural review. Jaden was named as the catalyst for the cultural review, therefore we ensured there was a strong focus on his exerperience as a young, black, neurodiverse apprentice firefighter. The findings of the LFB cultural review have since sparked a review of the fire brigade service nationwide, and its findings were discussed in the House of Parliament.
